Microsoft to Announce Global Windows 7 Family Packs (3PC) for $80 per license

•November 17, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Currently Microsoft is only offering the 3pc Windows Premium, License Pack in the USA (perhaps the UK by now as well). A global deal is about be announced, including Australia, shown here

Due in stock 26 November, so expect announcement soon, url moved to here http://bit.ly/5gSFLZ or search ‘ windows 7 3pc’  on the old url.

22 Nov Update:

Stock has landed (around 1000 pcs) to the DSE warehouse in Sydney

24 Nov Update:

Installed software Windows 7 Upgrade ,  had XP, then formatted to install windows 7 ultimate (no key), then formatted to install Windows 7 home premium.

Installation

Remember this is an upgrade, but legally who hasn’t got XP or Vista installed on a machine, changed link destination above, technically in this case upgrade acts the same as a full version, I assume all versions due.

So the question can I do a clean install with an upgrade, the answer is yes. If like me you loathe to install all your programs again the easy transfer program makes this very easy and I had many less programs to reinstall (but always back up just in case)

26 Nov Update:

As predicted stock is now trickling in so is in stock in Australia nationally. Expect the rest of the stock to hit over the next few days. I assume the rest of ther country will get stock in as well. $237 for 3 licenses (great deal).

Let me know if there are better ones you see.

Vietnam Chao Mui ne

Well our last night in Mui Ne beach
Dang (magages the Smoky House restaraunt) got in some great fresh squid and Louise went into the kitchen to see how they do it here. BBQ squid is amazing and cannot wait cook it at home. The marinade is 1 secret but cooking is another. Most recipes have you cutting squid then cooking it. Here they BBQ then cut it up. This gives a LESS uniform cooking and adds to varying taste and texture of the squid and a big difference really.

We have a load more pictures and recipes I will upload once back in Oz

I will miss this place there is a real spirit / vibe here. The Mui Ni folks are a proud and wonderful people.

Our hearts go put to those especially with family in areas nearby that have been devistated by recent floods.

Vietnam – Lost in Translationism

•November 9, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Seen many of these here but had to google to figure out what this at our fav restaurant was they were out and could not show me

Makes sense SHELL (so nurong) is scallop

The ingrediants for food here are superb bananas grown at the restaurants, seafood plucked from the sea on the day, spices from the markett sounds superb but the same item cooked at the same place on two different days are 100% different and you have to repeat eventually

Still very lucky to have the problem
The locals have been great this place is amazing

Vietnam spam and Market Slicing

•November 7, 2009 • Leave a Comment

EmailIs
I noticed when peeking at my email I am about 20,000 emails behind on my personal inbox ;(20,302 at the moment to be specific)

So apologies

Trouble is I have webmail spam filtering
And client side spam filtering but here on holiday it is easier to look at emails on the mail app on the iPhone but filtering is shall we say limited

Market Slicing
It rained yesterday 1st time in 2 weeks so ventued away from the beach long enough to visit a large local market in phan thiet see picture yesterday was market type 1 and amazing

No pressure on shopping there as with touristy markets, where we mere males get jumped and grabbed flirtingly by young vietnamese girls shall I say and need to be aware of and on guard or sought depending on your demeaner

I have realised there are 5 types of markets here
1- locals only no tourist stuff pretty raw chickens, turtle, frog, duck, eel & snake eaten and killed to order on the market – makes you rswear not to eat meat ever again
2- locals only department store so no polo or Ralph Lauren only local made items and food
3- per item 1 catering for tourists and locals so more named brands souvenirs etc prada, bally, d&g 2nds are big and cheap as they are made here
4- per item 2 so like target in the us or Australia
5 – is up market Chanel , d&g etc and costing about the same as us and Australia so no real deal to be had
